The Free Zone Project is an anti-copyright project that seeks a free market solution to problems that can arise from copyright law. The project exists to inform everyday citizens about copyright laws and add to the debate about intellectual property (IP).
The project allows websites and their authors to make the contents of such sites public domain, allowing free use of what would otherwise be the intellectual “property” of the respective authors.
The project believes that increasing the public domain of the internet is an effective way of keeping the internet free and more open to innovation, i.e. the project wants a more ‘open source’ internet.
